Loveland Office Furniture Installation Creates a More Functional Workplace

Installed conference table and black chairs in a Loveland, CO office meeting room

Creating a successful workplace is not simply a matter of filling rooms with desks and chairs. In addition to enabling employees to complete their work, furniture must support meetings, training courses, storage, and employees’ breaks, as well as the constant flow of people through the office. We recently completed an office furniture installation project in Loveland, CO, and showed how all different aspects of the workplace can be brought together under one roof in a coherent and effective manner by our installation team.

Furnishing Private Offices for Everyday Productivity

Practical Desk Layouts Support Focused Work

Space for technology and for conducting daily business activities in private offices must not be overly crowded. For this Loveland project, we supplied wood-finish work surfaces and set them up to best make use of available space. The arrangement of several offices is in the form of an L-shape, thus providing separate work surfaces for computers and papers as well as for meetings with visitors.

The positioning of furniture within the rooms has been carefully considered, ensuring that although a piece of furniture may fit within a room, it is positioned in a manner that does not restrict movement of chairs, obstruct doors, and allows for easy circulation through the space. Completed offices provide functional workspaces whilst allowing for easy movement throughout the area.

Black ergonomic task chairs complement the desks and provide adjustable seating for employees who spend much of the workday at their workstations. We also incorporated guest seating where appropriate, giving employees a convenient place to meet with coworkers or visitors without leaving their offices.

Shared Workstations Make Efficient Use of Smaller Rooms

Panel Systems Provide Definition and Privacy

Additionally, the project included areas for shared work by employees. Paired workstations with wood-finished surfaces were supplied with white pedestal storage and gray divider panels. These small areas allow for efficient use of space and define individual workplaces for employees.

These panels are not fully enclosed but rather provide visual separation to various functions. Personal storage is placed below the work surface to keep frequently used items within easy reach while keeping the desktop surface available for technology and for daily functions.

To us, the details of how the paired workstations are installed, such as how the panels align with the work surfaces and storage and how space between them will be, are most important so that the finished configuration looks like it was intended to function as a complete furniture system.

A Conference Room Designed for Group Meetings

One of the largest areas within the space is the conference room. We installed a large rectangular wood-finish table to sit in the space, surrounded by black executive-style chairs. The end result is a space designed to hold leadership meetings, present to, plan with, and hold discussions with.

When selecting conference furniture for a meeting room, it is important to consider the clear space required around the perimeter of the table. The amount of space needed to push back chairs in conferences with large numbers of employees and for people to enter and leave the room while others are occupied in discussion must be used effectively within the room to form part of the overall circulation.

Wood tones in the space are consistent throughout the building and thus tie the conference room to the private offices and other areas of the workplace.

Flexible Furniture Supports Training and Group Activities

Mobile Tables Allow the Room to Adapt

The training space was another example of planning for commercial furniture and how not every room needs to be set up in a fixed way. We provided a number of rectangular training tables on mobile bases and were supported by a number of lightweight chairs that could be moved and arranged for the specific activity taking place.

The movable furniture supports rooms to be used for classroom-style instruction, for small group work, for employee training, and for other business purposes. Tables and chairs can be rearranged as required by the organization.

In multipurpose spaces, flexibility is key. In commercial spaces that are very expensive, the furniture needs to get as much practical use out of a space as possible.

Break Room Furniture Completes the Workplace

The same attention should be paid to employee spaces as to formal offices and meeting rooms. A compact round table and chairs have been placed in the break area so that people can eat and chat informally.

This smaller-scale furnishing complements the existing cabinetry and appliances and does not impede traffic in the room. While break room furniture comprises only a small portion of the overall scope of work for any given installation, its proper scale and placement can have a significant impact upon the perceived comfort of the space.

Consistency Matters Across a Multi-Room Installation

Commercial projects often involve many furniture types that serve very different purposes. The challenge is creating consistency while respecting each room’s function.

We supplied furniture for the Loveland executive and private offices, general workstations, chairs, conference rooms, training rooms, storage, shelves, and break room. Again, each space was designed to function as part of the overall workplace.

The details that affect how a space is used on a daily basis are also important. That means that a professional installation of school furniture ensures that desks stand upright, work surfaces are at the right height, storage space in drawers is sufficient, and chairs can move about in the areas where they are located.
